Glastonbury Wellies For The Jungle
Each year thousands of wellies and tents are left behind after Glastonbury Festival. Last year I photographed their distribution by Liz Clegg who had coordinated the cleanup after the festival.
“I stood in the yard and thought: ‘Fuck me, that is a lot of wellies.’ I was aware of the crisis [in Calais] and put two and two together. This rubbish is a problem for us at the festival, but I knew they would be gratefully received over here” she told me.
I contacted the Guardian with the story and it was run both online and as a spread in G2.
