On the 23rd of April I had the privilege of shooting the London Marathon for RNIB.
The charity had over 100 athletes running in the marathon to raise funds and awareness of the charity. I was tasked with shooting them as they progressed along the 26.2-mile course, and photographing the ‘cheer points’ set up by the charity at mile 13 and 24 miles.
Spotting the athletes among the 40,000 runners was difficult but the client was extremely pleased with the final pictures.
The marathon was an incredible spectacle to witness, for its size, the comradery of the runners, the enthusiasm of the spectators and the physical effort and pain that the athletes put themselves through to complete the course.
Thanks to the RNIB and congratulations to all their athletes and sponsored runners.
